I don't see anything wrong in wearing a brown dress to a wedding

Yes, today almost anything goes. My husband is a pastor so we've seen many things. We've even seen bridesmaids who look great in their black dresses. Wear what you like and feel comfortable wearing. On the other hand, we've also seen jeans at a wedding which I feel is still highly inappropriate.

I think it depends on the style of the dress. The color accents of the dress (pink and brown are HOT HOT HOT). As well as the accesories worn with the dress.

Yes, of course. Brown is one of the hit colors this year, even for summer. It was nice of your guest to ask. Be sure to let her know you appreciate her asking.

Sure, if black can be worn in the summer, why not brown.

It is totally appropriate, the only color for a gal not to wear to a wedding is white/ivory or anyting close to that. :)

As long as it's a summer dress, it's fine.

I think it is very appropriate. If it makes you feel uncomfortable wear bright, summer colored shoes and jewlery.
Hope this helps=)

The yellow you possibly can artwork, however the brown one truthfully no longer in mid-March( springtime) in Florida you may choose crimson, yellow, possibly gentle green or another spring colour.

Why not? You don't have to wear hot pink or some other 'summery' color just because it's a summer wedding. Brown is fine.
My MIL wore brown to our wedding, and she looked great.
Have fun!

Why wouldn't it? If you are a guest you can wear whatever color you want EXCEPT for white.

absolutely!
Brown is a stylish and neutral color so it can definitely be worn by a guest.

Of course, you can wear whatever color you want. You are a guest. As long as it isnt overly dressy or overly casual, any color works :)

Brown isn't inappropriate.
However, depending on the colour and the style, it could be seen as very dreary and drab and convey the message that the wearer thinks the wedding is not a happy event.
