Camping on honeymoon?

Planning for a summer wedding in august in Arkansas and since money is tight it'd be best to stay close for the honeymoon. There's a ton of beautiful camping areas in arkansas and since we love camping I think that will be a cheap an fun honeymoon. What are some things to consider to make it extra special and not just another camping trip. Anything in particular to pack or do? Or any other ideas?

Good for you ! Do what you enjoy on your honeymoon. You are not the only person to go camping on their honeymoon! Gee, there is a car commercial on TV with just that, it rains on them! Take your camera for proof for the grandkids[the kids of the kids you don't have yet] thatyouhad a honeymoon, and how different it was!

You did not say what kind of camping. do you mean to have a tent, or is this a vehicle you are going to use? Are you backpacking in, or can you pull the pickup into the campsite?

Do you mean to go fishing or hunting?

do you have a Coleman stove, or are you cooking with an open flame?

So I would guess that it is all about the campfire and the food.

Plan on taking your ice chest[s] and a great array of food. Steaks and baked potatoes? Pretend you are a cowboy and have thing chuck wagon style? Pretend you are at a luau and have something on a stick?

Rivers would take out a loan at the bank and acquire some really nice catfish fillets, and have the spices and coating all ready prepared in tupperware. I would home fry some potatoes in bacon grease, and have the coleslaw in the cooler with some cokes or beers, as you prefer. Breakfast would be a frittatta, good use of the leftover home fries, or some yum pancakes for the grill if you have one, and real sausage. Take some blueberries with you for the batter.

You could decorate your abode with whatever you can, bring a string of flowers and drape it. Bring crepe paper, bring rose petals. If you have a campfire you don't need candles.

If you wish, incorporate a hike to a scenic place in your itinerary. A popular spot at a state park near here has lots of trails, lots of scenic vistas, and a marvelous view of the Illinois River.

there are nearby tours to take the car, nearby scenic things to drive to, lots of quaint restaurants to try. Perhaps you could find something like that in Arkansas.

I think it sounds lovely, actually. It's something you both enjoy and the whole point of a honeymoon is to get away with just the two of you and this sounds great.

There's honestly no reason why you'd need to cut camping short to stay in a hotel.

As for making it special - plan some nice hikes and let nature take care of making it special.

Learn to make heart shaped pancakes on the fire. Smores. Maybe camp someplace with electrical hookups and have a CD player with you so you can dance under the stars.

i think of I also have a compromise. only bypass to a valuable motel on your properly chosen spot and mount your tent interior the motel room so which you would be able to: (a million) show your hobby for camping out, (2) fulfill your desire to do something unique AND (3) have all your actual-earned inner maximum moments on a similar time!

i would seriously discuss this with your fiancee! some women would love it, others like camping generally but wouldnt necessarily want to do it on their honeymoon

i would try to pack a nice picnic and champagne though...maybe you could wait till she went out to pee or something and try to make the tent look nice (rose petals or whatever). bring a stero and make a cd in advance - romantic songs

Get a good picnic set that has everything you need for picnics for 2 people. Bring champagne or wine

If you can't afford a decent honeymoon, at least using a motel room, you can't afford to get married. Your marriage will quickly end over money problems. I would advise you to wait until you have enough money for a decent honeymoon in a place where there aren't snakes and ticks.
