HAWAII!!!!! Hawaii is awesome, beautiful, and cheap flying out of LA. There is nightlife in Honolulu, but also relaxing beaches, and adventures things to do (ziplining, jumping off waterfalls, etc.)

It will be a lot cheaper than Sandals and you will be able to discover sooooo much of the island instead of just staying at a resort.

EDIT: Weather is fabulous, food is fabulous, it will proabably rain, but it doesn't rain for long. Off the track of hurricanes. Warm and humind, but not muggy and gross. Man, I wish I could go back.

How much money do you want to spend?

Can you / will you travel abroad, or only in the U.S.? (Do you have a passport?)

This is critical information to know before we can recommend anything.

My fiancee and I are going to a Sandals in Jamaica in August. It's great -- absolutely all-inclusive (no tipping, no charge for 95% of activities, no charge for food or booze). We got a 50% off deal, and my fiancee cashed in airline miles so the whole thing is only costing us a few grand. We would have never been able to afford an international honeymoon otherwise. But we're really excited to go because we want (a) to lie on the beach for days, (b) to have outdoor activities at our fingertips, (c) to have nice, tropical weather, (d) to be treated really well, (e) to have lots of alone time.

If you live in LA, where the weather's pretty nice most of the time, maybe consider a place with good culture and nightlife that's really different! South Korea, or Hong Kong, or Ibiza or Rio or Japan or NYC.

A sandals resort is not going to have a "great night life." There are going to be a few bars, and maybe one place to dance, but it's not like a club scene in a major city or in a party destination. Most people are there to be romantic, and to be romantic with each other.

---

EDIT:

Most Sandals resorts are in places that are going to have AT LEAST a Florida-like climate, maybe worse.

Maybe you should take a cruise! There are lots of BIG cruise ships that have multiple dance clubs, but you get the feel of an all-inclusive resort (lots of free food, not much tipping, lots of activities available, multiple destinations). The only thing that sucks is that your cabin will probably be pretty small unless you really shell out the $$$.

I agree with disney world. Fun, romantic, and not too expensive!!

Sandles is expensive, and if you are going to leave the country sandles is too americanized. You will go to jamaica but feel like you are at key west.

Talk to a travel agent.. we walked in wanting nothing more than Barbados, and our travel agent changed our minds, found us the perfect place and saved us a bundle of money!!

What about Florida? You could hit Miami Beach, and Orlando (downtown disney has a bunch of dance clubs) and all the other beach towns like South Beach, its great down there, just like in LA but not as dirty

(I'm a life long Angelino, and i lived in fl for 6 months, trust me)

A cruise is always nice. LA is a port of call, you won't even have to fly anywhere.
