Question:
Honest Answers- Are David's Bridal Dresses Good Quality?

So, I have a dress budget of about $1,200. But, I'm always one for saving money and I'd buy a less expensive dress in a heartbeat, if I really loved it and it was good quality.

I've heard mixed opinions on David's Bridal. I heard it's a good value for the budget bride, but that if you're looking for a better quality dress than it's not a good place to go.

I really, really want quality! I want a dress that's well made and will photograph well. I have no issues spending $1,200 on a dress, because I have the ability. But, like I said, I love a bargain (when everything adds up, like style, quality and price), so I would never be opposed to David's Bridal, if it had everything I wanted.

So, what's the real deal with David's Bridal? Are the dresses just as good as more expensive ones, like so many people say?

Being honest.

Yes and no.

I had a very tight budget. For $600, the quality I got at davids was excellent. Outstanding considering how little I spent compared to other boutiques. For what I got, I don't think I could've done better. But the quality is in the cut, not neccessarily the fabric.

When I was looking around I found much better quality (silks in particular) & equal or superior cuts. But the price was much, much more than I could afford. Even alfred angelo had some beautiful gowns. I fell in looooove with this dress... http://www.alfredangelo.com/Collections/ProductDisplay.aspx?productID=58465505-8991-49a6-805a-ec8923ac7eec&categoryID=67d73cea-c12d-471e-b496-73e32a9fd3f5&pg=1 and tried every which way to fit it into the budget. I couldn't. Even so, I didn't feel like I was settling at Davids because... hey... I got the best for the amount of money I could spend.

Anyway, moral of the story is if your budget is $1200 check out other stores first because you can find better quality and if you don't find anything, or you're low on cash, check out davids. Don't forget corsets, underskirts, tayloring, shoes, jewelry, veils & headpieces. Expect to spend a fair amount of your budget on those items.

David Bridal Wedding Dresses Cheap

That is on tv. However, Davids bridal did do a give away to one lucky winner at the fashion show Sat that I attended. Plus a trip, some jewelry and make over. Lady and gents bridal shop also gave away a gown. They do have give aways but I never heard of one that can go in and do that. Especially since gowns can be destoryed in the process that can be worth 4,000 and so, that wouldn't be a good idea to have a mop of girls run in, grab, yank and all that. Especially if fights break out and that looks bad upon David's Bridal.

Honestly, I thought the dresses at David's Bridal were very poor quality. The fabrics felt cheap and harsh (and were often itchy to boot), and they were clearly not as well-made as dresses I tried on elsewhere. I also found them rather limited on styles (particularly if you want something other than a strapless dress). I also had a lousy experience with their salespeople--I went in with a list of style numbers and clear idea of what I wanted, all of which they ignored--and have heard countless horror stories about their customer service. Definitely look up your local store on the Better Business Bureau before you go.

I tried David's Bridal because I was on a very tight budget, but after visiting them, decided it was not worth it. In the end, I found an Alfred Angelo dress elsewhere for about half what your budget is, yet the difference in quality was significant.

Most of my married friends had similar experiences there (though several went with them for bridesmaid dresses).

It's still worth looking at DB; you may have a better experience, plus it's always helpful to rule out what you don't want. Best of luck to you!

I got my dress at Davids and I loved it and received many compliments. People seemed really suprised that it was from Davids. I spent approx. $25,000 on my wedding and my dress was from Davids for around $800.00.

To be honest, if your body looks good, you will look good in anything (within reason). I loved the "no bs" approach at Davids and since my body was in good shape and my hair and makeup were done beautifully, I looked beautiful (if I do say so myself, lol).

I honestly don't regret my decision. I got married 6 years ago and I still look at our video and think that I had a beautiful dress. Like you, I had the ability to spend more money, but I am glad I spent more money on the venue and the honeymoon than an expensive dress!

I remember when my sister in law was getting married and we watched a wedding fashion show together and some "celebrity stylist" said that the more expensicve fabrics don't photograph any differently from the cheaper fabrics. My pics look beautiful and if it was someone else, I would never think the dress was "cheap".

Get the dress at Davids! You will look gorgeous and you will not regret it! Good luck!

Yes. They are perfectly good quality dresses. They carry "David's Bridal" brand dresses, but they also have a line from a designer called "Oleg Cassini" which are more pricey. Either way, you should not have anything to worry about. Plus, with your budget, you could have your pick of nearly any dress at DB, but in the more expensive shops you will be narrowed down to a smaller number to choose from.

I bought my dress at Davids, all my friends except one bought their dresses at Davids. You cannot tell the difference in pictures between the $5000 dress and the $500 dresses. In person there is a difference, the fabric was nicer on the more expensive gown. I say go to Davids and see if you can find something you like. You are only going to wear the dress for a few hours and the pictures will look really good.

I bought my dress at David's for 700 on sale(it was originally 800 and is from the Oleg Cassini line). It is gorgeous, I feel gorgeous in it, and it needs minimal alterations. I am of the mindset that no one should spend more than $1000 on a dress they will wear for about 6 hours. You can find a dress for far less that is gorgeous and you will be happy with.

Thousands of women have bought dresses from David's Bridal and were completely satisfied with their purchase. The RIGHT dress does not have to come with a high price tag on it, the RIGHT dress is the one that you love the moment you put it on, regardless of price. You are looking at too much television if you think you have to spend more than you have saved for the dress. I hope you give David's a chance and I am sure they will try to please you with a wonderful purchase. Happy wedding and God bless you in your marriage.

I love David's Bridal. I love the whole concept -- dresses with actual price tags that you can see and research online. None of this sales-pitchy ickiness where you feel like you're at a car dealership and they won't even let you look at dresses unless they bring them to you. Yeah, when you go into the store you usually need some help from a salesperson, but by and large, you aren't indebted to them.

I bought this dress at David's.

I didn't like any of the other dresses that I tried on -- at least, not as much. I even had gone to Kleinfeld's Bridal in New York (one of the spendiest bridal salons in the country) and I didn't see anything I wanted nearly as much as this one.

My only complaint was that the zipper wasn't as "hidden" as I would have liked it to be. I suppose I could have had it replaced by the seamstress that did my alterations (I used a different person for alterations rather than the DB seamstress), but I didn't think of it.

Other than that, I loved it. At my wedding, someone even told me that she'd overheard one of the bartenders remarking to the other that it was the most beautiful wedding dress she'd ever seen.

the staff at four places i visited for 3 different ocassions are the same. they are prejudgmental. they treat you like you're wasting their time. if one of the friends walk in while they tending to you, be prepared to be set aside like a used tissue.
