The coolest **** ever would be to have a completely black and white wedding in the winter, think about the contrast, you would automatically draw every eye to you.

The wedding being in the fall ,use other fall colors to go with the red. I have seen an orange colored calla lilly mixed w/tan to mute the orange a little. some light yellow and burgundy mixed w/ off white baby's breath for floral arrangements. It doesn't sound as pretty as it actually looks when put together. The brides maids wore pumpkin colored silk dresses. Incorporate these colors into everything and it turns out really nice.

Depending on the tone of the color why not - Deep burgundy, Burnt Orange, and White?

I think those would look gorgeous for an August wedding by the river!

When my sister got married her bridesmaids dresses were Burgundy and silver. That was nice but you may have to be careful what shade of silver you use so that it isn't too striking.

I would use a rich creamy colour, that's always a safe colour and traditional, to make up for not having a traditional coloured dress.

If your dress is a dark colour then stay away form other dark colours to avoid the funeral look.

Maybe have your groom in a complementing waistcoat instead of a black suit jacket.

it sounds like you are an adventurous soul! how fun! your dress sounds lovely!

you could add:

any metallic - gold, silver, bronze would make for an eclectic style.

heavy creams would be gorgeous and add a more sophisticated look.

pinks and oranges with a touch of green would add a youthful zest to your day!

so you have to decide what you want for your day, and then you'll be better able to decide on your colours and accessories!

wishing you a happy wedding!

A red wedding dress? Shouldn't you have thought about the bridesmaids dresses when you picked out a red wedding dress?

I would go to the store that you purchased the red wedding dress at and ask them to show you dresses that would match.

I would suggest muted shades like a soft, pale yellow, off whites (creme, ivory) or soft Gray (think tin or steel coloured) and shades of brown like cafe au lait (almost beige). Two other options would be gold (again a lighter shade for contrast) or silver. You'll need to get a few fabric swatches (try a fabric store for little squares) in colours you like and hold them against your wedding dress to be certain what you'll like best. Avoid greens and blues. Otherwise your looking at black which would look formal.

Good Luck.

Ivory, Silver, White, or black.. maybe not so much black but something neutral so that the other color does not take away that your dress is red and you and your new hubby are the center of the photos!! I think Ivory or Silver would be gorgeous!!

I like the black and white idea but add just a few red accents around the room. Just a few to bring your dress out.

Someone I know had quite a bright light green in the bouquets along with the red flowers and red dress- it looked amazing- it was on a beautiful sunny day and it really made the red look 'happy'!

Your flowers should contrast your dress a bit so the "reds" don't clash too much. Being married outside near a river I would go with more earthy hues to accentuate the beautiful surroundings. Deep reds and oranges, mossy greens. OR go with a fun feel with red, hot pink and orange

White, cream, yellow and gold go well with red. Take a swatch with you and go to a fabric store and get some ideas.

Good luck and God Bless your marriage.

Cream is the only one I can think of that would go well and be suitable for a wedding.

Other colors go with red but wouldn't suit the event such as black and white.

Use a gold color. Red and gold are colors of celebration in Chinese culture.
