Question:
Are cheap PhotoBooth rentals on LivingSocial & Groupon worth it? Or is the deal too good to be true?

I have an upcoming event in San Diego, and I would love for a photobooth to be there to capture those moments! We are on a bit of a budget, and I keep seeing deals on LivingSocial & Groupon for very cheap photobooths... Has anyone purchased these deals? And what is your review on them? Were they professional? Good quality photos? Reliable and hassle-free? Or is this a "too good to be true" type of situation? If you have used one of these please let me know how your experience was, thank you!!

Depends on the company. I work for a photo booth rental place on the weekends during wedding season as a booth attendant (a nice change of pace from my day job) and I consider myself to be extremely reliable and professional. I don't know if any of my clients have personally bought our services on Groupon or whatever but I doubt it. I see all the contracts that come across for my client sites and none of them have groupon discounts and such.

I would echo what others have said that the company you rent from is more important than if you get it from a deal site. It depends if you are renting an actual physical booth vs someone who comes in and takes wacky photos. Both are fine - it just depends what experience you want.

If would say that if the groupon has a use date of less than 12 months, you call the company and ask about their availability for your event/wedding day. You don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a photobooth rental only to find you have a worthless groupon because the company doesn't have any availability that day.

I would also say from experience that yes, photobooths most definitely capture 'moments'. :)

LivingSocial and Groupon are legitimate deal sites.

They will have done the work to investigate the professionalism of those companies they advertise, but you should do your own detective work also. Check reviews online, do a Google search, look for a BBB rating.

Each company is different. Someone can come along and tell you they had an excellent experience with a photobooth company in Florida, but that means nothing to you if you'll be hiring a different company in San Diego.

By the way, a photobooth is stationary, it does not capture moments.

I have not had problems with Groupon. However, I do realize that each offer depends on the company that has the offer, and not Groupon.

I would suggest you Google the name of the company with the photo booths. and look for reviews. That should give you needed information.
