Personally, I think you could find something off the rack that is much better.

Is this for your older friend to wear as a wedding dress or just a dress to someones wedding? Just to wear to a wedding take the sash off and leave it plain. You could do it that way for a bridal dress. You could put some kind of beaded lace around the seam of the dress to spruce it up a bit.

I'm sorry but I also think it looks cheap and nasty. I don't think a white sash is going to make much difference. You should be able to find something within budget at sales. I've seen some gorgeous dresses on the clearance racks at bridal stores. You just have to look.

Honestly, the material doesnt look high-quality. See the middle picture which shows the entire back of the dress? The train is on the ground with lots of folds and wrinkles. It doesnt lay very nicely at all. I dont think its worth paying any money for.

Keep looking! There are lots of vintage options out there.

I don't like the neck line...

It looks like it's either not sewn correctly or there’s a double layer.

Sweetheart neck lines are gorgeous but this one isn't right. There’s something off.

The cut under the arms aren’t done well either as they are loose and not fitted.

If your friend is of a larger size, Empire cuts are extremely flattering (on any size really) and they are very traditional/vintage.

My friend loves the sweetheart cut and is getting that for her wedding dress; however she has larger boobs, and is going for a softer sweetheart cut for her to avoid a large cleavage line and drawing excessive attention to that area.

I think the dress is very classy, yet simple and understated and would be absolutely stunning with a black sash, instead of a white one that won't do a thing to inhance the dress. What a classy look that would be with the groomsmen all wearing classic black tuxs to accent her beautiful black satin sash. Congrats to the bride and the groom!!!!

Satan is popular for nuptials, however the black sash may not be proper for a wedding gown. That's pretty inexpensive a price for a wedding gown and fitting could be a problem too !

Visit a few bridal shops before you decide, it may surprise you what you will find !

I don't think that it looks cheap so much as it does hand made (which it is) It clearly does not look like a designer special but a hand made look can have a sweet one of a kind look to it. Be careful not to overdo anything else at your wedding; carry the sweet simple county style all the way through and I think you will be a beautiful bride!

In a word, EWWWWW.

There is no reason anyone should be wearing a big purple ribbon around their midsection for a wedding~~that's just tacky and wrong.

Keep looking!

EDIT~~If you insist on going the eBay route, make sure that you send your friend's measurements so that the dress fits or buy it a tad big and have it altered later. I would actually check consignment stores, thrift stores, and bridal shop clearance racks before going through eBay. My dress was very plain and simple and I paid less than $300 for it at a true bridal shop. When it's something to be worn one day, I can't see spending a fortune on it either.

No its looks good. You can fix the top area. But do you really want a used wedding dress? Especially on that has to be fixed by adding hooks to keep the dress up for dancing.

Be very careful buying such an important item on Ebay. Trunk sales by designers are awesome for bargains! I'm a wedding planner, if you need some help, email me mstein9922@yahoo.com

Good luck :-)

Yes, its past cheap looking.

Seems to me like a few pieces of second-hand fabric thrown around and tied up with ugly ribbon.

If this is for a wedding,

you definitely deserve something more beautiful, unique and classy!

It could be pretty. Dress it up with amazing hair and some classy, high quality jewelry and I bet it would look great.

It won't be suitable for a wedding, in my opinion, but it's just right for proms and parties

I think it's very sweet and understated.
