Homemade wedding favors?

My wedding is next year and I would really like to MAKE a nice favor for everyone, but I want a uniquie one and I have a very TIGHT budget. Give me some help please

scented candle wrapped in a tulle circle with a paper heart with your name and to-be's name printed in the heart and tied on the candle with a ribbon. Tulle circles are at any decoration store and they are cheap. Use the colors from your wedding.

Do you know how to make a box? If not, use the links below. Instead of greeting cards do this: Get a good closeup picture of you and your fiance that would center on the box. Get enough prints made (less than .20 each). Make the lid out of the print. You could even use a photo editor and put your names and wedding date on the lid. Or just print labels for the inside that say your names and date. Buy white or colored poster board. Fill the boxes with mints and nuts, wrap with thin ribbon.

I just went to a wedding this w/e where the bride made soap for everyone. It was cute-- heart shaped, lavender scented handmade soaps wrapped in tulle. They also had pens that they had printed with their names and wedding date.



I have also seen the make your own lollipop kits. You can make sure it matches the wedding colors. Edible gifts are always great.



I have also seen where the brides had lil jars with ingredients for the brides favorite foods. She had 3 different ones so you could either pick up the chocolate chip cookie mix, the soup mix, or the pasta mix (it had elbow pasta and a separate mix of spices that you added to a jar of traditional tomato sauce). Each had a lil recipe attached to it. They were great and people were so impressed with the handmade gifts.



You could also just wrap in tulle something edible--like hershey hugs and kisses from the bride and groom, or mints for "mint" to be together.



There are lots of ideas--just make sure you pick something useful b/c you always have left over favors. So make sure you pick something you can use /want in your new house.

My friend started about a year before her wedding and planted some little plants and kept them under a grow light the whole year and then when the wedding came she wrapped the bottom of the pot and put them on the table as wedding decorations and let the guests take them home as favors!



Another cute idea I have heard of is to take a package of inexpensive flower seeds and print out a sticker to put on each one that says: "Take these seeds and watch them bloom and think of us...the bride and groom!" And put them all in a big clay pot to give as favors!

Since I am getting married in the summer, my fiance and I went to a local "pick your own" strawberry patch. We've made strawberry freezer jam to put in little jars. We paid $20.00 for two flats of strawberries. I found a wholesale jar company online and ordered enough little jars for each person/family that are 4 oz. ($20.00) The packs of Sur-Jel aren't too expensive, either. I bought some super-cheap ribbon to tie on the jars.

For less than $80.00 we have enough strawberry jam favors for 100 guests/families.

It does take a little effort compared to most, but everyone in my family is looking forward to getting one! Who doesn't like an edible favor!!??

Besides, picking strawberries, cutting them and making the jam with my man was a moment to be treasured forever! We actually had a great time doing it! Definitely a good way to build some fantastic memories! (The strawberry fight in the field was too much fun!)

Anyway, that is my input on a homemade, inexpensive favor idea....

What we did for my daughter's wedding is we went to a dollar store and purchased lovely silver picture frames with wedding rings, hearts, doves laser cut into them. At a dollar each they were a bargain, considering on some internet web sites I saw them listed at $4.50 each for the exact same thing.



We then used a heavier nice paper and put in each the name of the guest, or Mr. & Mrs. Whoever and what table they were to be seated at. The other cost-cutting fact is one frame per couple too. Then after the name we put "thank you for sharing our special day" John & Mary 9/17/06.



These can then be taken home and used to display a picture of the happy couple. In your thank you notes, you could include a picture of you and your husband that they could put in the frame.

Try Catheez Creationz store on Ebay. She makes labels for the Mini Hershey's bars for $1.20 a sheet of 30. All you have to do is stick them on the bars. That's what I'm doing for my wedding. They are favors that probaly won't be left behind.

bypass to dollar shops, thrift shops and flea markets and purchase little china cups. you may upload somewhat tag to the take care of. Or upload some loose tea which you bundled up in tulle circles. you may even positioned floating candles in them and use them as centerpieces too. affordable yule adorns-basically upload somewhat tag and a ribbon you may make tiny books with some kinfolk recipes interior for each couple Mini wind chimes Mini clay pots with a packet of seeds interior

if you have a .99 cents store around your area, they have a lot of little tirnkets and ribbon just get enough for your wedding. See if you can order the ribbons with you & your soon to be hubby's name on them and wrap them around the trinkets. Thats what I did for my sister's Baby shower everone was trying to take more than one home.

when i got married i went to costco wholesale and picked up a bunch of blank cd's with cases in bulk. then i burned all my favorite designated love songs on there that would be played at the wedding (ceremony and reception) including the first dance and what i walked to, daddy daughter dance, etc. i got avery labels to put on the cd's. there was an engagement picture of us on the cd's with a list of songs and they said our names and dates and on the back of the case we put a sticker that said thank you for sharing in our special day. the cd's weren't vary much and neither where the labels, it was so easy and cheap. plus its something that guests can listen to again and again.

Here is an idea for you. I have done this for a wedding shower but Im sure that you can do this for a wedding too.

Here is what you will need



Hershey Bars(enough for everyone)

glue

paper



Carefully open the candy bar and on the inside of the paper wrapper, put a white piece of paper with 1. Your weddding date

2. Your favorite song (as a couple)

3. Date on when you became engaged

4. Date of when you first met

ect...

Something that people will actually keep, pens, you buy 12 for $1.00. wrap them with green floral tape, wrap a plastic or silk flower to the top and include a little card( you can do that on the computer) with your names and the date of your wedding. Ta Da!

Chocolate Kiss Rose Buds are easy and not that expensive. You can make them in advance ( in small quantities, or large) and then stick them in the freezer until your big day. You can make them in blue, red, purple... any colour cellophane you want.
