It's fine for an evening wedding. I'd wear silver or gold shoes, maybe a purse with peacock feathers.

Here's a cute pair of shoes: http://www.zappos.com/product/7364378/color/385

and a purse: http://www.landdevents.com/images/283_peacock_fluted_cocktail_bag.jpg

You can pretty much wear whatever jewelry you want.

this would sound extraordinary... flow to a furnture save, and attempt to discover a great peice of fruniture that's the comparable coloration as your gown. Then go searching for some throw pillows. attempt putting them on the sofa to be certain which hues genuinely do not paintings, or ones that would paintings. Then once you get an concept of works, attempt to get a pattern and head off to the shoe save. the main vital element to remeber is that it is not necissarily the colour that makes it paintings or not , however the tone and intensity of the colour. in case you % a strappy sandal, you may desire to probable flow with an analogous coloration that has a extra extreme coloration ( extra pigment) in case you % a coloration that's not close to the colour of your gown, then it's time to interrupt out the colour wheel, and detect a complementary coloration, so you might use for you footwear, and sparingly with different upload-ons ( rings, consistent with risk a mild shoulder wrap)

Well, technically it should be fine. It is formal enough and seems to be in wearable condition. However, I think that in May you are going to be sweating your butt off! It kinda looks like the dress my mom made me wear in our family x-mas pictures when I was 12. Go to TJ Max and find a cute, cheap dress that will fit the season and the formality. Good luck!

As a guest, yes, it can be worn. The velvet is more suited to a winder or fall wedding, but not entirely out of place in may. Your shoes should be black or silver, a purse should be silver and small, and jewelry should be sparse, perhaps a bracelet and earrings, also in silver or white gold. You might also consider long black gloves, in which case your shoes should also be black. For a formal event, your hair needs to be up, and rhinestone pins are appropriate, but no flowers in your hair.

Yes it will be fine. A black pair of heels and a black clutch. A necklace with a green stone in it and a pair of earrings with same color is the chain of the necklace or green in color.

the fabric, velvet, is not for summer. Sorry, but I agree, the dress looks a little dated, like a old bridesmaid dress.

That would be fine. Go with nice black slingbacks and a peacock feather clutch (like the second answer said). I would go with simple pearl necklace.

the material does look a little heavy for a May wedding, but if you live in Wisconsin...it just may be cold enough for it :)

Absolutely not. With the velvet bodice it is definitely October to March only. Find something springy or seasonless.
