Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?

Just curious:

If you are already married, did you have something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue? If so what was it? If not, why not?

if you're not married, are you gonna do the old-new-borrowed-blue thing? If so what are you thinking of using?

I think it'll be fun to see everyone's answers! ^_^

Something Old - My grandmother had started this pearl necklace thing when I was a baby. For every birthday, she would give me a new pearl to add to the necklace. My mom kept them all and we finally put them all together on a necklace, so that is what I am using for my something old.

Something New - My dress, shoes, and a pretty little pearl hair clip.

Something Borrowed - My mom is borrowing me a pretty pearl bracelet she wore at her wedding.

Something Blue - My FH gave me a 'promise/I love you ring' for our first dating anniversary. It's really pretty. We were both still in college and nowhere near ready to make the commitment of marriage, but he gave it to me to tell me that he did want to marry me some day. It's a silver band that kind of 'twists' on either side with miniscule little diamond chips in it and the center stone is a sapphire, which is my favorite stone. It's really pretty and the blue is a royal color, not the dark-almost-black color that some of them have. I've worn it on my right hand ring finger since the night he gave it to me and I will do so at my wedding, as well as after.

Yes, I did it. Just for fun, though, because I am not superstitious in the least.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to say what my things were.

Something old: An antique veil

Something new: My dress? Can't really remember

Something borrowed: That veil was borrowed from a friend of my grandmother's

Something blue: A blue linen handkerchief that I tucked into my sleeve

And a sliver sixpence in her shoe: You left that part out! You're supposed to put a penny in your shoe--that's part of the poem

I'll be getting married next year :]

Old: My mom has suggested her grandmother's ring, but I never met her so I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that. On the other hand though, I don't have any other better ideas haha.

New: My dress

Borrowed: My mom's veil from when her & my dad got married almost 25 years ago :]

Blue: My shoes. It'll be similar to the Tiffany blue color we're using in our wedding, so it kinda works out haha.

Getting married in October and DEFINITELY doing the something old etc bit.

Something old--the horseshoe pendent charm I'm having sewn into the hem of my gown

Something new--my gown/veil/shoes

Something borrowed--my tiara (my m.o.h. was a beauty queen lol)

Something blue--I'm still working on it, but I'm thinking about having my stylist dye a strand of my hair blue (well a lock of hair actually) with a temp colour)a

New: My dress and shoes

Old, borrowed, and blue: An old penny borrowed from my mother with blue nail polish dotted on it. I didn't want there to be 3 separate things, so I thought of this and my mom laughed. I'll be putting in my shoe. :)

I'm not doing anything blue, or anything old. I'm only doing something borrowed because my mom wants me to wear the same necklace that my older sister wore to her wedding :)
