I am getting married in March 08. I just ordered my dress.. it is "the one." But, I am a little scared. My dress is mostly ivory w/ mocha beading.. I have no idea what colors to choose for the BM's and flowers.. and all the other stuff! I don't want it to look fallish.. I have no clue. Keep in mind that the church we are getting married in has RED carpet.. so I am kinda scared of using red for the BM's.. Can anyone help me?!?!?

Ivory goes with just about anything so choosing a color scheme shouldn't be difficult at all. You can do a chocolate and tiffany blue with ivory accents or even a black and silver with ivory accents. Your color choices are endless - and don't necessarily have to match the dress.

Don't worry about the carpet. All event centers and many churches have hideous carpet so it won't show the dirt and wear. There is little you can do about it and nobody expects your wedding colors to coordinate with the carpet, they won't even be looking down.

Since you have "mocha" in your dress beading...it is pretty popular now to do a chocolate and accent color wedding .. chocolate and aqua (or baby blue), chocolate and light green, chocolate and pink, or purple, or yellow, etc. You get the idea. It can be a pastel or a bright (hot pink for example).

The BMs could wear chocolate and an accent of your other color, or reverse. It would be great either way and would pick up on the mocha color of your beading.

I knew I loved hydrangeas and wanted to have them as my flower and theme...it was just a question of purples or blues, eventually I went with purple and lavender as my colors. Seemed very "wedding-y."

Since March is pretty much spring, you can use pastels and not worry about choosing colors that seem too "autumn-ish" or coordinate with your ceremony or reception site.

Mocha with either ivory or pink trim (sash) would be very pretty and would compliment your dress well. Use a lot of the light colors in their bouquets and it will not look fallish. Don't worry about the carpet - no one ever remembers what the carpet looked like.

dont worry about the carpet in the church as people wont even be paying attention to that and its not like you can choose the carpet colour anyways...its out of your control. as for the dresses, why not do a mocha colour with pink and ivory accents. I got married in march of 05 and we did pink and silver. the mocha will tie in your dress, the pink is a springy colour, but wont look too springy becuase the brown tones it down a bit and the ivory will keep everything together and wont clash since your dress is ivory so you wont want white.

Then don't use red, that's easy, but to be honest how many people are even going to make the association? Not many I'd bet. I think I'd go with mocha dresses for the girls and put a bright colored sash with it - fuchsia, or tangerine, or turquoise, coral even - then use that color in your flowers as well. Since you have the mocha beading on your gown, putting them in mocha is a natural way to emphasize your gown and make the whole bridal party 'flow' nicely. Adding your punch of color in accents will make the carpet issue non-existent, and brighten up the whole picture.

Good Luck!

I do know that brown and pink are huge right now, and very classy. Since pink might be a touch delicate with the red carpet, I would personally go with baby blue and mocha. Then you could center the decor around bare branches and ribbon/candles/flowers in the baby blue and mocha accented with strands of pearls. This is such a nice combo for a spring wedding. It is very fresh and clean and new. Then choose from the flowers in season that match that palette and go for it!

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Maybe a shade of green as it is the complement of red. I'd stay away from kelley green or forest or it would look Christmasy. A light spring green, or something toward an olive for a classier look that would be a nice foil to the mocha beading on your dress. Good luck

the colours of your dress are fairly neutral so you could pretty much get away with anything for your bridesmaids, pink is always a good wedding colour and with so many shades of it out there you are bound to find one or two that suit your bridesmaids. As for the carpet, well please do not plan your whole wedding based on the colour of the carpet, all eyes will be up on you, I bet no one even remembers what colour the carpet even was!

I think putting the girls in a mocha colored dress would look really nice! red carpets kinda scarry and i wouldn't put them in red either. they'll blend in way too much. but idk about the flowers. I'd say ivory and mocha flowers would look pretty but then that's alot of mocha becuase you still have to put the guys in something also.

Ivory and wine

Ivory and teal

Ivory and pink

you can avoid most of the carpet problem by laying down a white aisle runner before to distract the guests

Don't think of mocha as a color, but as an accent. You could do soft pink, soft blue, lavender, or softer yellow. All will look wonderful in spring, and great with the mocha accents and ivory of your dress.

Go for natural colours for the bridesmaids dresses as they will then compliment your dress. Mocha or latte or a champagne will look nice.

Spring colors for the bridesmaid's dresses come to mind-- peach, pink, etc. If this is your first wedding, would you like to consider a white dress? It's 100% up to you, of course.

Go with pretty spring colours, nice and happy. Our colours were pink, lilac, yellow, and light teal - just lovely to work with.
