By announcements I mean announcing the names of the wedding party when they walk in and announcing the bride and groom also announcing the first dance, cutting of the cake, bouquet toss, ect not someone who just plays music and thats it. How much for a decent DJ? Thanks :)

DJ prices range anywhere from $500 (cheap) to $1500 (which is the most I've charged). It really depends on how long your event is, how much you want your DJ to do and how much equipment he needs to bring. Don't forget travel and setup time as well. It also depends on what you mean by decent. Personally, I would say $600-$800 for 5-6 hours.

It really depends if your going with an entertainment company they can range from $ 3000 to $ 6000 for mc/music.

For a normal dj that has simple lights and will do the MC will more then likely run around $ 1500. It also depends on where you life.

Those are prices for the Los Angeles area.

I paid $800. We had a DJ with many years experience and some big name clients. The DJ was not high on my priority list, but I was more than happy with him, and surprised at what a big difference having a good DJ made. The others we talked to were either similarly priced, but had much less experience, or cheap- the guy who seriously was going to bring in his iPod and hook it up to his speakers, we just needed to give him a list of songs to download. (Yeah, right!)

I am paying about $500 for my DJ...and the announcing is included. Here is a link to local DJs, maybe just call and price them out or visit their websites:
