It is a little ritual to insure that the wedding last. the bride is suppose to wear somthing old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.



A lot of times the wedding dress is concidered new, you will see a lot of brides borrowing ear rings or necklaces, I have seen brides wear blue ribbons and they will wear an old piece of jewelry or sometimes old clothes under their dress.



I don't know the origins but it is just one of those things were it doesn't hurt to do it so most every woman who gets married does it, just in case.
